Project overview
Background
Once a user saves their booking in the app, they can modify or add extras. This project aims to make it easier and clearer for users to see which extras are already included and which are still available to add.
Goal
To improve the post-booking experience by providing users with a clear, intuitive view of their added extras and available options - reducing confusion, enhancing transparency, and increasing ancillary uptake.
Problem statement
The previous essentials page showed a basic summary of available ancillaries, but lacked detail. The app API only provided totals, e.g. total bags without showing which passengers they applied to or which leg of the journey, leading to confusion and a poor user experience.
As part of this project, I proposed updating the API backend to retrieve the necessary data to improve the overall experience.
